Executive summary

The 60-day story, in one page.

Daris is proof that a sharp idea, a decisive client and a focused team can put a real product in real hands faster than most companies finish a pitch deck.

A UAE founding team looked at how the Emirates now orders food, hails rides and buys almost anything in a few taps — then asked one question: why is finding a great tutor still stuck in group chats and guesswork? That question became Daris, a two-sided marketplace connecting families with vetted tutors, on demand.

They brought it to Narimax, a Dubai software studio, with an unusual brief: not a prototype, but a launch-ready app — in two months. This is how it happened, what nearly broke, and what shipped.

Make trust and convenience effortless, and people will transact — even for something as personal as their child's education.

01The Spark

An idea born from a very ordinary frustration.

Before a single line of code, there were two founders, a family group chat, and a hunch about where the UAE was heading.

The foundersThe ideaThe problemThe market
The founders

Two founders, one stubborn question.

Daris didn't start in a boardroom. It started with two people in the UAE who kept hitting the same wall — and decided to build the way around it.

A market where “on-demand” is simply how life works.

The idea

From “Educore” to Daris.

The working name was Educore — a tutors' marketplace. The insight behind it was bigger than a name.

The founders had spent a decade watching a quiet revolution: the marketplace became the default shape of daily life. Groceries, pharmacies, rides, home repairs, luxury resale — each collapsed into a single, trusted, tap-to-book experience. Convenience stopped being a feature and became an expectation.

Yet one of the most important decisions a family makes — who helps their child learn — had been left behind, still running on forwarded numbers and awkward cash handovers.

So the pitch was simple: apply the on-demand marketplace model to tutoring. The name grew from Educore to Daris — from the Arabic for “a lesson” — because it was never about tutors as a category. It was about the lesson a child actually receives.

Everything else in my life became a marketplace. My son's education was still a group chat. That gap was the whole business.

The problem

What today feels like.

People don't experience “the tutoring market.” They experience one stressful evening at a time.

A parent at a laptop, late in the evening
The parent

Time-poor, quality-anxious, out of trusted options.

Three people sit at the centre of this story, each carrying a version of the same problem.

The parent is busy and quietly worried. Between work and a full household, they have neither the hours to vet ten tutors nor a reliable way to know which is any good. A wrong choice costs money, momentum, and their child's confidence.

The student needs help now — before the exam, not after the report card — and usually gets a mismatched tutor and an awkward schedule.

The tutor, often excellent, is effectively invisible: reliant on word of mouth, chasing payments by hand, with no simple way to fill a calendar.

Busy

No time to vet

Choosing a tutor becomes a research project parents never asked for — so they settle, or delay.

Worried

No proof of quality

Without verified credentials or honest reviews, every choice is a leap of faith with real stakes.

Invisible

Great tutors, no reach

Skilled tutors can’t easily be found, booked or paid — so supply and demand keep missing.

The signal beneath the noise

The friction wasn't a shortage of tutors. It was the absence of trust, visibility and a simple way to transact — exactly what a marketplace is built to solve.

The market moment

The right idea — at the right time.

Timing turns a good idea into a fundable one. Daris landed in a market already primed for it.

The UAE is one of the most digitally fluent, mobile-first societies on earth. Families already trust apps for money, health, transport and daily errands — the behavioural groundwork a tutoring marketplace needs was already in place.

Education spending is high, expectations are rising, and private tutoring is a normal, sizeable part of family life. Add a young, multilingual, fast-growing population and a national appetite for digital-first services, and the conditions were unusually favourable.

The opportunity wasn't to invent demand. It was to organise demand that already existed into one trusted, well-designed place.

02The Partner

A bold idea needs a team that can actually ship it.

Ideas are cheap; execution is everything. Daris needed a builder who could turn a two-month deadline into a launched product without cutting the corners that matter.

The decisionThe studio
The decision

Why Daris chose Narimax.

The founders didn't need the biggest agency — they needed the surest pair of hands for a fixed, unforgiving deadline.

1

Proven delivery

A Dubai studio with a record of shipping complex, high-traffic products across government, enterprise and consumer.

2

Speed without chaos

A product-minded team running tight, transparent sprints — fast, but never at the expense of what users feel.

3

UAE-native

Arabic-first design, regional payments, data-residency norms and the nuance of family services.

4

Marketplace fluency

Prior two-sided platforms — matching, ratings, scheduling, payouts — meant far less to invent.

The brief, in one sentence

03The Build

Sixty days. Two apps. One shot to get it right.

Discovery, design, engineering, testing and launch — compressed into eight weeks and run in parallel. Here is how Daris was actually built.

Weeks 1–2 · Discovery & definition

Cut it to the core.

With eight weeks on the clock, the first job wasn't to design screens. It was to draw a hard line around the minimum lovable product.

Narimax and Daris ran a fast, intense definition sprint: map the two-sided journeys, agree the single job the app had to do brilliantly, and defer everything else to a post-launch backlog.

The core loop was fixed in week one: a family finds a trusted tutor, books a session, pays securely, and both sides show up prepared. If a feature didn't serve that loop, it waited.

Weeks 2–5 · Product & experience design

Designing Daris.

Two audiences, one coherent product. A family should feel reassured; a tutor should feel in control — both in seconds, in Arabic or English.

The design language borrowed the calm of the brand itself: warm cream, deep navy, and a single confident orange for the moments that matter — search, book, pay. Rounded, friendly, trustworthy.

Weeks 2–7 · Engineering the marketplace

Built to launch — and to grow.

The fastest architecture is the one you don't have to rebuild. Narimax composed Daris from proven parts, then added only what was unique.

One cross-platform client delivered native iOS, Android and web. Behind it, a modular services layer handled the genuinely hard, marketplace-specific problems: matching, availability, bookings, escrowed payments and payouts.

Payments, SMS, maps and push were integrated, not reinvented — and the operations console shipped alongside the apps, not months later.

The standard we held

Nothing shipped until a real tutor and a real family had run the whole loop — find, book, pay, learn — on real devices, in both languages.

The launch

A controlled launch, a confident start.

Daris went live in Dubai with a deliberately focused rollout — seed the supply of great tutors first, then open the doors to families.

Rather than an everywhere-at-once debut, the team launched into a defined catchment, onboarded verified tutors ahead of demand, and watched the core loop closely. Every booking was a live test of the thesis: make trust and convenience easy, and people transact.

They did. Early sessions completed smoothly, reviews came in warm, and the weekly rhythm that built the app now powered its growth.

The road ahead

The future isn't launched. It's practised.

Daris shipped in sixty days — but the real product is the rhythm now behind it.

With the core loop proven, the deferred backlog becomes the roadmap: group classes, an in-app classroom, smarter matching, referrals, and expansion beyond the first catchment across the Emirates and the wider region.

The deeper win is a way of working — a decisive client, a focused studio, a locked scope and a weekly cadence — that took an idea from a family group chat to a living service, on a foundation strong enough to keep building on.

Next
Deepen the loop

In-app classroom, smarter matching and richer tutor tools to raise quality and retention.

Then
Widen the map

From one catchment to city-wide, then emirate-wide — the same playbook, repeated.

Always
Ship, measure, improve

The weekly cadence that built Daris is the engine that will keep growing it.

The takeaway

You don't need a year to test a bold idea. With the right partner, a clear scope and the nerve to launch, sixty days is enough to turn “what if” into “it's live.”
